Scholars and students who are interested in getting involved with the initiative through research and / or data contributions are warmly invited to contact us!

In order to further develop the database, we continue to collect and curate (new and existing) research data relating to the historic slave trade in the Indian Ocean and maritime Asia region.

We are also especially looking for new, including non-European, sources for structural data extraction.

Research data contributions are handled with utmost care and are sustainably stored in the project Dataverse.
